I really enjoyed the Serpent Prince and never read the Raven or Leopard Prince. I read it a long time ago, but I remember being pleasantly surprised by my mind's refusal to wander from the story.

Yup, agree that the book got much much better as it went on. And I agree that it's not a "5", and not the best in the series, but a damn good book anyway.
