I disagree. But we'll leave it at that. I think the only reason it was labeled chick-lit is because it was written in the first person. The entire book is focused on Jack and Emma's relationship, not just on Emma w/ Jack in the peripheral, so I'd consider it a romance.

I do see where you're coming from, though. I just disagree.

Well, I can see why you would consider this book a romance but though Jack and Emma's relationship was a big part of the book, it was still secondary to Emma's self journey. I mean, in a romance we see the character journeys of both the hero and the heroine, in chick lit the main focus is on the main character and in this book it was Emma.

In this book we got to know Jack through Emma, like she was telling us (her friends) about this amazing guy that she met and it was a quirky story telling, which is exactly what a chick lit book is.

So I lean more toward the chick lit then romance because this book had romantic elements in it but focused mainly on Emma.

I didn't consider this Chick-lit. I thought it was romance and still continue to think so even after reading it. It might be labeled chick-lit, but I believe it's a romance.
